A Sdn Bhd (Sendirian Berhad) is a private limited company in Malaysia. Think of it as a business with a safety net, your liability as a shareholder is capped at the value of your shares. It’s its own legal “person,” meaning it can run a business, own property, sign deals or even go to court all separate from you.

Anyone 18 or older living in Malaysia can start a Sdn Bhd, as long as they’re not barred under Section 198 of the Companies Act 2016. If you’re a foreigner not based in Malaysia, no worries! Just team up with at least one director who lives here to get it registered.
